About Me
Hi! I’m Rachel Buchanan. I really enjoy meeting new people, essential oils, and soft blankets. I love spending time with my sweet kiddos and handsome Hubby traveling, hiking and rock climbing, reading, going on walks and playing at the park. We also love playing all kinds of board and card games! If you are on the market for other families to have game nights with, look no further!
I have three incredible girls who are kind, intelligent, beautiful and I cannot get enough of them! My husband Hubby (Mr. Teacher as the cute Preschool kids call him) is the SWEETEST man on the planet and my absolute dreamboat. He is the perfect daddy to our three girls.
I have been teaching in my Preschool for 2 years now and it feels like I have been doing this all my life, I love it! The past year I also started homeschooling my girls and I cannot imagine ever going back, we all love it so much!
I gained my experience in various ways, namely, my internship with Brittney Gonzalez, who has operated her Preschool “The Learning Tree” for over 12 years, was the Director at a child care center for several years before that, in charge of the curriculum development there and the training of Staff, and is now a Parenting and Life Coach. On top of this I was a personal nanny for a few families for 10+ years implementing many of the things I do now in my preschool and developed my love of helping children have fun with learning and enjoy their growing up years. I Taught for a time at “American Preparatory Academy” in a 1st Grade classroom. I had so much fun being a teacher for the preschoolers in a daycare before all of that and decided that children are the quickest way to a genuine smile and laugh.
It is an honor to work with such incredible children, and I am grateful for this privilege!
My Why
I love working with children. I love how happy they are and how much joy they find in everything! They make me want to be more like them all the time; more simple and laid back, more kind, more forgiving, more amazed, and curious. They are SO intelligent. One of my FAVORITE things in the world is when I am privileged to witness a child discover or understand something for the first time. It is even more incredible when THEY realize their hard work has paid off and they “figured it out!” or finally “did it!”. They get SO excited and are so proud of themselves! I love being a part of their learning process. Creating opportunities for those moments to happen is something I am passionate about. These opportunities can happen anywhere, at any time, doing anything. That is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to start my Preschool. I truly believe that it takes a village to raise our little ones. As we do this we become more well rounded stand-up citizens ourselves. I want to be a force of good in the community I’m a part of. The good I have dreamed of putting out in the world has always involved building children up and creating a place where they feel loved, seen and heard. I am surrounded by incredible children and families, and I am so honored to be welcomed into your lives. I am excited to provide a beautiful and fun place for your children to grow and learn.
